Art at Highfield Humanities College

We have two specialist Art Studios which are modern, well equipped and well lit.

Highfield pupils regularly gain commendations at the Young Seasider's Art Exhibition, which is sponsored by the Gazette and held at the Grundy Art Gallery in Blackpool.

Both Art rooms have computer aided Art and Design Computers and classes have access to one of two laptop trolleys each with 30 wireless computers.

Highfield runs Art GCSE Courses at Key Stage 4.

Students will work on two themed modules, throughout the two year course, with the expectation that all preparations, experimentation with materials and exploration of the themes, will be carried out in a sketchbook. Pupils will also carry out an externally set assignment, in the Spring Term of the second GCSE year. This will culminate in a 10 hour timed test, which will be carried out over two school days.
