Mathematics at Highfield Humanities College

Pupils' Link to Maths starters

Mathematics is taught to pupils in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in well equipped classrooms with 'state of the art' computer facilities and Promethean Interactive Whiteboards, which have specialist software installed to bring 'maths alive!'.

Examination results at both Key Stages are outstanding and pupils benefit from extra tuition after hours and during school holidays, particularly in the lead up to GCSE Examinations.

Pupils with weaknesses in Numeracy are offered extra help in small groups in addition to their main Maths lessons.

We try to be innovative in our teaching and the following link shows one of our Maths classes at the De Vere Golf Range where Maths topics such as 'angles, distances, forces and vectors' were all brought firmly into the real world!
