Music at Highfield Humanities College Music is taught to all pupils in Key Stage 3 and to pupils who opt to take it as a full GCSE course in Key Stage 4. The department has two well equipped Music rooms, a Music Practice room and a Sound Studio. The department also has five computers installed with various applications such as Cubase VST, Sibelius and Fruity Loops. We also have three Apple Macs which have Garage Band installed. Completed GCSE music is recorded digitally with the help of the schools IT Support department by either using a laptop with an Edirol FA-101 digital interface, using Cubase SX3, or an Apple Mac, using Apples Logic Pro 7 and Shure Microphones - they are conducted in the schools recording studio. We have a school choir which takes a major role in all our school events including Speech Day, The Christmas and Easter Services and our Christmas Cabaret. Many pupils take advantage of extra music lessons taken by visiting teachers throughout the week. These include very popular singing lessons. Please click on the link below for further information:
