Outdoor Education

Highfield pupils join two other schools for a fantastic adventure weekend at the Ullswater Centre.

Sponsored by HSBC Bank all who took part pushed themselves to the boundary in cold and winter like conditions.

Highfield runs many Outdoor Education visits each year - we use the Outward Bound Trust Centres at Loch Eli, Aberdovy and Ullswater.  We also use Water Park in Coniston and our own wonderful site on Windermere.

We run a full Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme with many going on to do Bronze, Silver and eventually Gold.

In January 2012 pupils, who have experienced an Outward Bound Course, met Sir Chris Bonington who spoke to them about his Mount Everest Climb.
