Curriculum Overview KS3

In Year 7, all pupils study French for 2 lessons per week.

In Year 8, the most able sets have 3 periods of Modern Language, split between French and German.
Sets 2 and 3 have French for 3 lessons, while Sets 4 and 5 continue to have 2 lessons of French, plus an additional literacy lesson in English.

We use the Expo textbook as our main resource but also use many other sources of inspiration. We subscribe to Linguascope and A Tantot which are available for our pupils to access from home.

The passwords will be given by members of staff to pupils.

A trip to Brittany and Paris at the end of Year 7 allows pupils to experience the culture and the language of the country.
