It's really nice that Mr Westhorpe has started this web page because its brought back a lot of very fond memories with not only friends but also the teachers ( Mrs Castick, Mr Owen, Mr Feeley, The webwaster himself, and Mr Digman)
I had such a fantastic time at Highfield at camp and on the french trips to Clisson which everyone used to go on! If i hadn't have had such wonderful mates and teachers then i wouldn't be doing it for myself nearly 11 years later. Yup i'm a maths teacher ( Thanks to Mr Owen !!!! :-> ) and i'm loving every minute of it, currently i'm teaching at Collegiate and my next teaching block on my P.G.C.E. is over at St. Aidans in Preesall. If anyone who knows me Either teachers or friends from my year, give me a buzz on the email address attached

Great site this, heard about it from Margaret Martin. I left after the 4th year, you could in the old days!! I remember Miss Bloomer but no other teachers names(old age creeping in)Would love to know what happened to Michelle Whittam or Tulsa Beaumont. I am still friends with Pam Tait. We all got into trouble for wearing black socks, that is my lasting memory

Would love to hear from past friends from Highfield - Anita Mansfeld, Jean Gorman, Susan Birkbeck. Great website and would be very interested in a reunion as I visit Blackpool quite often.

Hey what a great site and great to see my old school doing so well! I remember Chemistry lessons with Mr Westhorpe, they were always good fun! I'm now working as a Magazine Production Editor at the Institute of Physics in Bristol, I got a good education and had a good time at Highfield - does the 5th form centre still exist, and do the 5th years (sorry, I don't know what they're called now!) still get to choose the colour of their uniforms?? I was in the 'jade green' year!! Well hi to anyone who vaguely remembers me and good luck with the site.

I was at Highfield until 1967. I see from FriendsReunited that Harold Hinchcliff still occasionally teaches at Highfield. I would like to pass on a message of sincere thanks to him because it is down to Harold that I have spent 35 years in the Chemical Industry. I now Manage a Quality Control Laboratory for Asahi Glass Fluoropolymers who took over the business from ICI 3 years ago. Prior to that I spent 13 years as an Environmental Chemist also for ICI. Finally to Jim Shakespeare, I still cannot draw to save my life but my hobby is artistic glass work making Blackpool Towers and many more pieces. Thanks to Jim for his influence.

Regards
