| John Porter | Tue 06 Nov 2001 08:07:49 CET I'm so very bored... Can't believe Sharpy's in the Navy, I never would have guessed. Quite bored without science or maths, Law is so dull! By the way Liverpool won't just win the premiership, they'll romp to it. | | | Mosca
 | Tue 06 Nov 2001 04:04:49 CET yep..... I'd love to hear from old classmates, or anyone that may remember me - in a nice way, of course! I work part time to keep my sanity, what there is left of it, was always short on that too... I have 3 daughters, am married to Jorge, a lovely Portuguese fella, have been very lucky. I believe Eavo met him once when we went for some chips in Heskeths. I remember Eavo taking my money, looking very surprised and saying, 'Mosca, you're normal now!' Sadly, it is only an outer appearance I have donned, as Germans don't like anything unusual. Living over here, I miss out and need an occcasional update....so drop us a line. :o) | | | Janet Peel
 | Sat 03 Nov 2001 16:20:07 CET I was at Highfield with Kerry Hall, Sharon Summers, Sarah Anyon, Helen Philbin, David James, etc. Laughed at Eddie Gough's comments about Farah trousers & Pringle jumpers. But what about the Kicker frenzy everyone had!? I got my Kickers, Farahs and Pringle jumper the Christmas that I left Highfield (85) and thought I was the bee's knees.....until I moved to Southport, where NOBODY was wearing such clothes, and so my excitement at eventually getting my hearts desire sort of went a bit pear-shaped. Most people reading this probably won't remember me - admittedly whilst at Highfield I wasn't particularly memorable. I was a bit of a good girl really, a bit boring!! All that changed when I moved to my new school. I acquired many, many new and interesting bad habits, which turned me into a naughty, rebellious, disruptive pain in the backside basically. I enjoyed Highfield though, and have some good memories including: writing names of all the lads we fancied on the desks at the back of Mr Furness' class, horrific cross country running races in PE (which wasn't really cross country - more, round both fields, and up and down Highfield Rd twice)which Linda Mercer always won, the pottery lessons where we made those little cottages (which my Mum still has!!), and most notably, my all time favourite memory is the enormous crush that I had on Warren Spencer (3 years older), which started at Roseacre years before. I knew where all his classes were, where he hung around in breaks, and I worshipped him. I was possibly an early form of stalker. Warren, if you read this, I am so very, very, very sorry! I still live in Southport, but spend most of my time in Liverpool, where I work at Paul McCartney's fame school - LIPA. It's a good job, and I get to meet the odd celeb every now and again, and I work with the odd OLD celeb too. It was good seeing a few old names that I remember from my days at Highfield, on this website. | | | Eddie Gough
 | Fri 02 Nov 2001 05:10:04 CET Left Blackpool years ago to go to Uni and very rarely go back so would be great to catch up with anyone who remembers the curly mullet/Pringle jumpers/Farah trouser era. ) Currently living and working in the Manchester suburbs having spent the intervening post-Highfield years as a student and a traveller before eventually getting dragged kicking and screaming into the real world a few years ago. Saw the name 'Bilbo' on the message board - would that be the same rugged, tree-destroying, outlaw-type who used to 'help' out on 2nd year camp? And is that Pete Westhorpe the very same madcap professor who used to blow up all manner of substances on the back field - much to the annoyance of our old maths teacher Mr Hinchliffe?! Great webite and a great idea, keep up the good work and get in touch! | | | Sharon Sanderson

  | Wed 31 Oct 2001 08:01:46 CET Just to let you know, I've just started a Ph.D. in X-ray Microtomgraphy for the 3D reconstruction and evaluation of non woven fibre materials in the department of Physics and Astronomy at Leeds University. Would like to say thanks to all the science and math teachers at Highfield because I guess I wouldn't be where I am without their help. | | | Pete Noble

  | Fri 26 Oct 2001 12:19:31 CEST I left Blackpool at the age of 14 and moved to Burton on Trent, my form teacher at Highfield was Mr Gregory (extremely long nasal hair)no offence to you. After school I went to on to collage then joined the Army. I?m currently working as an entertainer and live abroad. It would be great to hear from anyone who went to school with me either through the e-mail or my web site at www.go.to/clive I?m looking to buy a hotel in Blackpool in the future and carry on the entertainments. What goes around comes around? But where have the years gone? All the very best to those who know me, will know me or won't have the pleasure. | | |
