BREAKING NEWS- HIGHFIELD HAVE MADE IT THROUGH TO THE FINALS OF THE BLACKPOOL CUP IN 3 OUT OF 5 YEAR GROUPS. WELL DONE TO OUR YEAR 7S, 8S AND 11S.
Highfield Humanities School teams are performing very well this year. Our year 7s have already won the Harry Wynne Cup. Also huge congratulations needs giving to our Year 8 Football team who have made it through to the Quarter Finals (final 8) of the Lancashire cup with a thumping 6-0 home win over Our Lady’s in Fulwood. Our Lady’s had not lost a fixture this year until they met our enthusiastic and talented year 8’s.
Also, Well done to Miss Maunder for Coaching the young year 7 girls to success in their opening two Netball games. Hopefully they can continue to perform well and achieve more success.
I would also like to mention that earlier on in the academic year our U14 ans U16 Boys Badminton teams were undefeated against all South Shore Schools. We are now waiting to play the Final against the winner of the North Shore Schools.

(Final)
Highfield win in extra time. A fantastic match from start to finish. Highfield took a 2-0 lead into the second half but unfortunately could not hold the lead and ended up drawing the game 2-2 which sent us in to extra time. We then pulled it together and thanks to a spectacular goal we won 3-2. That’s 2 out of 2 trophies won.

(1st Round)
A very hard game against a very good team. However a very positive second half. After going 5-0 in the first half, our lads lifted their heads in the second half and continued to battle to the end, only narrowly losing 2-1 in the second half. Overall I was very pleased with the level of effort and enthusiasm produced. Keep your heads held high year 9.

Unfortunately our journey has come to an end. St. Augustines was a good team with an excellent striker who proved to much to deal with. A valiant effort from our year 8s but sadly a loss.

An excellent game from beginning to end. Highfield hit the crossbar 4 times in the first half before eventually running out 3-1 winners. The final will now be played at Fleetwoods ground.
