Governance at Highfield

The Governing Body of each school has a responsibility to the Local Education Authority.  Many of the responsibilities of Governors are delegated by the Headteacher, who must deliver a written report to the Governors, at least termly.

The Governors of Highfield Humanities College are very supportive of the school and are involved in many aspects of its life.  The Governors regularly visit the school during working hours, not only to assist in the selection of teaching staff, but also to talk informally to the students and staff, thus keeping in touch with new developments and staff and students opinions.

Highfield Humanities College Full Governing Body meets termly and takes responsibility for major educational and budgetary developments.  Sub-Committees serving the Full Body also meet termly.
All parents and teachers have the right to contact, by letter or telephone, the Chair of Governors or any other Governor on any matter that concerns them.
