Hello and welcome to our PTFA page… Here you will details of forthcoming events and details of our monthly meetings. We have also included contact details for anyone wishing to join our active and enthusiastic PTFA. Thank you for taking the time to look at our web page.
Our PTFA … As someone who has a child in school you are automatically a PTFA member, so again, welcome!
If you are just browsing our website, you too would be welcome to join us. We meet on the second Wednesday of every month, during term time, normally in the school library at 6.30pm but on occasions the meeting will be held outside school and details of these meeting are highlighted in our schedule of events. We are a friendly informal group whose aim is to help resource our school for the benefit of the whole school community. We are fully supported by the Head teacher, Mr Ian Evans and other members of staff from all aspects of the college, including Governors. This is done through holding different fund raisers throughout the year.
Our next big event is the Casino Night on Friday 1st October 2010 this will be the ultimate social night in aid of the Humanities College PTFA fund raising. You are invited to attend at a cost of £5 per ticket per person. This includes your first 10 chips to start you playing the tables, but don't worry if you lose as you can purchase more chips on the night at a cost of £3 for 10 or £5 for 20. The idea of the night is to have loads of fun while building your stash of chips. There will be a prizes for the best male and best female who have the biggest stash on the night. We will also hold an auction at the end of the evening using chips to bid for prizes so the more you win the more you can bid! We anticipate tickets will be sold very quickly and are limited to 150 Tickets so please book early. To book your tickets email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or call 07854 231 710) and ask for myself. The night starts at 7.30pm and finishes late so you can play the tables then dance the night away. As the event is being held at a licenced venue, Blackpool Golf Club (Stanley Park), it is only open to Over 18’s. Since our launch in 2003 we have raised in excess of £35,000 and supported various school projects to the value of some £33,000. In example we have contributed fund to the Art department, the Gifted and Talented Summer School, HHCTV (Highfield Humanities College Television) and Year 8 camp, purchasing equipment and subsidising pupil places. All the events this year have been a great success and I would like to say a massive big thank you to all the people that helped us in 2010.Come along and support one of the events and help with Fund Raising for the PTFA. We need new members to keep generating new ideas and replacing members whose children have now moved on.
