Educational Visits

If you need ANY help planning your educational visit please see Peter Westhorpe.

Staff Planning Educational Visits should go to the 'Educational Visits' room on FRONTER. Here you will find up to date information including all forms that need to be completed.

You are reminded that for all Class B (hazardous) and Class C (residential) at least 4 weeks notice must be given to Blackpool Borough Council.

Highfield Humanities College acknowledges the immense value of Educational Visits to young people, and fully supports and encourages all visits that are correctly planned, managed and conducted.

Teachers should download EVC and submit this together with risk assesments, a copy of the parental consent form and a full list of names to PETE WESTHORPE prior to the visit.

If you are put off by the paperwork remember, a well planned visit, with risk assesments, will give you confidence and protect you in the event of a problem or accident. The time you spend planning will be more than paid for by the experiences your children will have. School visits bring the curriculum to life. Imagine learning astonomy in a well lit classroom, on an interactive white board!

Then go into a dark sky in Cumbria, see the milky way, view meteors and look at stars and planets through a telescope. You can even use http://www.heavens-above.com/ to see which satalites will be passing overhead and then ask your class which way they would like to learn!
